Waldorf experiential education in the Roman spirit!
In Steiner education the history of the current sixth Class covers about 2000 years, including Roman history. In addition to learning about the subject in a classroom setting, children will have the opportunity to have a comprehensive, hands-on experience at the Marcus Aurelius Roman Legion Camp.
For a week, schoolchildren can become real Romans: designing and making shields, doing strength training, practising their inner strength, and experiencing all the life of a Roman legionnaire during these few days.
The camp complements and deepens the learning of Roman geography, literature, culture, language, science, art, architecture and, of course, history, with a spirited “ceremonial” battle at the end of the period.
The students as well-organised Roman legionaries, fought a devastating battle against the barbarian parent army.
The Olympic Games are an equally important experience for Steiner-educated children, check out the gallery!
