Flag Football Alpine Tournament

It was a great opportunity to document the Flag Football Alpine Tournament in Christchurch.

The Flag Football team in Christchurch is the part of the American Football Canterbury, called Extrastaff Canterbury Panthers Flag Football. This type of sport is much more softer, than the rugby. All players wear belts with coloured flags attached at their hips. Instead of tackling, defenders pull one of the attacking player’s flags to stop them. Because of the non-contact element, it’s safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Nelson Honey Badgers American Football Club, and American Football Otago
took part in the sport event at Lancaster Park. Panther Red team finally won the tournament, congratulations them!

Wonderful tournament, exciting ball games, lots of amazing jumps and runs. I am grateful to be there as a sport photographer!
