Festival feeling in Hungary with kids

Festivals are good! Going to a festival with children? Even better!
We did so and didn’t regret it.
Hip-hip-hurray for the waste-free, family-friendly, forest festival!

A very life-affirming experience! Because living consciously, connected with nature and with each other: has an enriching power.

This a tiny little festival in Hungary called Gyüttment Festival. The name is a funny nickname for those people who lived in the city, but decided to begin a new life in the countryside.

It’s a small, human-scale festival, and the area is also large enough for children. No crowds, so many families, so the whole attitude to the children is also very good and attentive. Obviously, it is matter how big the children are at the festival. We easily let the two big ones walking around the field. The two little ones stayed with us, but the four-year-old sometimes accompanied with the big ones, and then we didn’t see him for hours. It was so enjoyable!

Nice environment, and lectures on good topics. You could ride a horse, try blacksmith, make jewellery from natural things… My big son made two stools and spent a whole day there in the carpentry workshop.

People played music, sometimes spontaneously. A small group of gypsy kids appeared from the village with guitars and drums. They played, the largest crowd formed around them, everyone danced, there was a frenzied atmosphere. I will never forget the little boy’s radiant joy as he thanked that so many people for having fun with them.

This festival is close to my heart in every aspect.
